I thought studying environmental science would be great help for contributing to a better environment in China, especially in current polluted situation.

I think I learned a lot knowledge at UNNC. But mostly I get the idea of “how to study” and the way of thinking, which helped me for my entire academic career.

The teaching and learning experience is quite interesting and diverse. I like the way that we carried out field works, which I learned a lot. I also appreciate that we carried out a dissertation course in UNNC that helped me very much for my graduation dissertations both in bachelor and master degree.

UNNC has broadened my horizon and changes the way for me to see and think about things.

I really miss the life in UNNC since I went to UK and even to this day.

My learning and teaching experiences at UNNC were awesome! The courses were diverse, covering different aspect of environment and nature, which made me feels like reading encyclopaedia that showing me the wide and fantastic world. Also, I can do laboratory work and computer work for my own projects, which was fantastic.

I am now a project management consultant mainly for World Bank or Asia Development Bank financed projects and most of the projects are related with 1) municipal infrastructure development, such as drainage and sewage pipeline distribution, WWTP, solid waste system management, flood management, 2) urban regeneration, 3) low carbon development and 4) vocational education development.

Studying at UNNC helped my career as it provided international professional knowledge and training. Thus we have broad international visions and can come up with more innovative or more experienced solutions. Also the learning methods were significant to me. I used to learn in a method of memorising what the teacher said, but at UNNC, I developed critical thinking, which is significant to my career life. Additionally, students are seldom constrained for their ideas. We can exchange ideas with tutors and usually we would get support to implement it. My confidence also improved by studying at UNNC. We are trained to speak out our voice and share with team, even in high level forum. Therefore, we are usually confident for what we present and how we present.
