Translation and Interpreting Studies (Chinese and English)

Programme Dates: 17 June - 19 June, 2019

Translation and interpreting (T&I) are highly practical yet challenging skills. Given the fast development of China, translators and interpreters are in great demand. Even AI or machine translation is very eye-catching nowadays, it still cannot replace humans. The summer school will provide a platform for people who want to develop their skills in translation and interpreting studies.

This programme will offer the opportunity to university students who want to improve their T&I skills, university teachers who want to develop their pedagogy, as well as international students with high proficiency in Chinese to upgrade themselves.

It will offer intensive training in T&I at an advanced level. Trainees will have the opportunity to develop the highly demanding skills in both translation and interpreting. Besides, they will be introduced to the cutting-edge theories, technologies and pedagogy in the discipline.

***Students would be able to join the News Discourse and Translation Conference during study here.
