Applications to our Summer School are now open!

 

Our summer school programme introduces and explains the relevant knowledge and methods for developing your understanding of how business is done in China. However, you will learn through case studies and practical exercises that there is no “golden key” to business in China. The class discussion will revolve around your own discovery of China. In order to contribute fresh insights, you will use the Ningbo region of China as a laboratory. You will be expected to develop your understanding of Chinese society through face-to-face encounters with local businesses and organizations.

Opening Ceremony & Introduction to the business environment in China

The Chinese consumer market – We will establish theoretical frameworks for conceptualizing market behaviour and then develop these concepts to think about what we see in the field.

9 July

People – We will consider the management and development of people within a variety of Chinese organizations and what this means for organizational behaviour

 

Company Visit

10 July

Organizational boundaries – We will evaluate how organizations in China have responded to and shaped their institutional environment. Specifically, we will examine the measures they take to control resources.

Business Policy and Strategy – We will explore the role of different stakeholders, including the Chinese government, MNEs and SOEs and how they influence the institutional environment.

  How to Apply

We welcome students from UNNC’s partner universities to apply for the programme.

Please follow the instructions below.

1. Complete the online Application Form.

2. Send a copy of your student status letter issued by your home university and a copy of your passport to international-summer-school@nottingham.edu.cn.

3. Within one week of receiving your application and supporting documents, we will let you know whether your place on the programme is confirmed.
