International Interns operate in the Centre for English Language Education (CELE) with duties on campus from 5-20 hours per week. Within these duties interns have the opportunity to work in many roles, including working directly with students, as faculty support, and to research independently.
Based in the Writing Lab@UNNC, interns work with lecturers and tutors; advise and assist students with one-on-one and group language support; are involved in extracurricular activities; work in digital learning environments; attend and support cultural events; work in the local community through the university outreach programme, and a variety of other roles.

- 40RMB hour payment
- No Chinese language prerequisite
Requirements
The candidate must be a native/native-like English speaker and very confident in their English writing & communications skills, as language support is integral to the role. Postgraduate/Undergraduate students with a background in or currently studying education, linguistics, TESOL or English is beneficial, though not required.
