Research Workshop on Operations Management in the Age of Digital Transformation successfully held

On 23 November, the Research Workshop on Operations Management in the Age of Digital Transformation was successfully held by the Department of Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management Systems of Nottingham University Business School China. The workshop focused on the cutting-edge issues in operations management in the digital transformation era, providing a platform for scholars to exchange and cooperate, and offering practical guidance for enterprise digital operations management.
The morning keynote speech was hosted by Dr Chandra Ade Irawan from the Business School.
At the opening of the workshop, Professor Kok Wei Khong, Dean of the Business School, delivered a speech, warmly welcoming the guests and hoping that the workshop would promote the development of relevant fields.
Subsequently, Professor Chee Wei Phang, Head of Department of Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management Systems of the Business School, introduced the basic situation of the department and emphasized the profound impact of digital transformation on the development of operations management, marketing, information systems and entrepreneurship.
In the keynote speech section, six outstanding scholars shared their latest research achievements. Professor Xi Zhao, Professor at the School of Management, Xi'an Jiaotong University, discussed the development and application of blockchain technology, and introduced the characteristics and task management of decentralized autonomous organizations based on blockchain technology.
During the break, the guests had in-depth exchanges with scholars and PhD students.
Dr Jiguang Chen, Associate Professor at the School of Management, Xiamen University, discussed the impact of the replacement of business tax with value-added tax on the volatility of enterprise supply chains, analyzing the differences in the impact under different circumstances.
Dr Shouchang Chen, Assistant Professor at the School of Management, Zhejiang University, analyzed the game behavior between internet celebrities and merchants in live-streaming e-commerce through a dynamic game model and discussed the impact of live-streaming sales channels on the income of internet celebrities and merchants.
The afternoon keynote speech was hosted by Dr Lei Liu from the Business School.
Dr Shenyang Jiang, Assistant Professor at the Advanced Institute of Business of Tongji University, used on-site experimental methods to study the impact of artificial intelligence-generated content visibility and user loss aversion on user engagement.
Dr Yueyue Zhang from the Business School explored the impact of goals without clear rewards on service employee performance using platform data and analyzed how work experience changes the intensity of the impact.
Dr Fengfeng Xie from the Business School discussed how cooperatives with different bargaining abilities form alliances and analyzed the impact of bargaining ability and revenue uncertainty on supply chain partner operational decisions.
The roundtable discussion following the keynote speeches was hosted by Dr Jin'an Shao from the Business School. Professor Xi Zhao, Dr Jiguang Chen, Dr Shouchang Chen, and Dr Shenyang Jiang shared their valuable experience and unique insights on how to publish high-quality papers in top academic journals and apply for national natural science fund projects.
Finally, Professor Jing Dai from the Business School delivered the closing speech for the workshop and looked forward to the prospects of scientific research exchange and cooperation.
