29 July 2021

On 29th July 2021, the UNNC CRRC International Talent Training Programme Graduation Ceremony was successfully held at the Siyuan Auditorium at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). Seventy-six participants from CRRC subsidiaries across the country concluded their 4-month journey of learning. Congratulations to them!

Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), began addressing the audience with welcoming remarks. He congratulated all the participants on their outstanding performance and learning achievements and thanked CRRC for its support and cooperation over the years. To date, a total of 857 UNNCRRC’ers who have graduated from the programme have worked in over 50 countries and regions, contributing to the implementation of CRRC's internationalisation strategy.

The programme was divided into two streams with 38 participants each. All participants have studied western culture courses, business modules, and English lessons and attend public lectures and liberal arts classes. They also needed to complete the Business Improvement Project (BIP) and prepare a presentation to top managers from CRRC.

In the project presentation, participants put forward innovative solutions to current difficulties and opportunities faced by CRRC using advanced digital technology and intelligent technology to overcome disruptions to the global supply chain during the pandemic. They fully demonstrated the mindset, knowledge and all-around ability of international business and English skills, highly praised by the guests. All the participants are awarded graduation certificates, and exceptional groups were also awarded Outstanding Project certificates.

Mr Wei Dong, Director of HR Center of CRRC, gave a speech. He expressed his sincere thanks to all the staff who have worked hard on the project and further expectations for the participants. At present, CRRC is at an important stage of implementation of its 14th Five-Year Plan. He hopes that all the participants can keep pace with the times, make the study serve a practical purpose, be brave in innovation, and promote the internationalisation of CRRC.

As for closing remarks, Professor Patrick Chau, Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange at UNNC, mentioned that the UNNC CRRC International Talent Training Programme had offered a wide range of courses and a new world of opportunities since its running. "The programme is ending, but not our friendship. We are always here to help, and we look forward to your visit in the future. We are forever linked, and we are all the stronger for it. "
