NUBS China rises further in Global Subject Rankings
14 July 2020
NUBS China hit at all-time high with three of its subject areas listed in the 2020 Global ShanghaiRanking of Academic Subjects. Despite NUBS China being relatively small and young, Management and Business Administration ranked in the top 200-300 universities in the world. UNNC is the only Sino-Foreign University in China with Management, Business Administration and Economics subjects in this ShanghaiRanking.
This brilliant result comes from NUBS China’s high degree of attention to research. We have faculty from around 30 countries and regions, with many awarded PhDs from the world’s most prestigious universities. Through joint research with colleagues in international universities and local institutions, the School is building a strong base of up-to-date knowledge on China that underpins our taught degrees and doctoral programme.
Internal analysis showed that NUBS China is ranked 15th globally for international collaboration in Business Administration and 37th for publication quality, based on citations. Between 2015 and 2019, 264 papers were published in 3, 4 and 4* journals on the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) ranking list, and 216 papers published in SCI/SSCI journals. This reflects high-quality research across UNNC. Its Field Weighted Citation Index is 1.75, higher than many top Chinese mainland universities. Key research areas of NUBS China are Digital Economy, Finance, International Business, Supply Chain, Responsible Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Healthcare.
The ShanghaiRanking is based on the Web of Science and InCites data covering Publications (PUB), Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI), number of publications featuring in the First Quartile (Q1), number of International Collaborations (IC), and the number of Top Journals Publications (TOP).
