NUBS Tri-campus conference 2022 brings together staff and students across the world

14 January 2022

The NUBS Tri-campus Conference 2022 held online from 10 to 13 January 2022 had wide participation from academic staff and doctoral students from Nottingham University Business School (NUBS). NUBS China, together with NUBS UK and NUBS Malaysia, organised the conference, signalling much interest in the promotion of knowledge exchange and research collaboration among the three campuses.

During the event, Professor Patrick Chau, Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), stated that the conference provides a great platform to empower and support our staff and students to collaborate in research. He also briefly introduced the University of Nottingham Research Strategic Delivery Plan (SDP) for the next five years which aims to empower everyone in the research community including academics, technicians, professional services, and postgraduate researchers to deliver work that they are proud of, whether fundamental discoveries or transformative innovations that change lives.

Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of NUBS China, addressed the conference and thanked all the staff who supported it. He focused on the quantity and quality, impact and relevance of the research at NUBS China.

Professor Fifi Jie Wang, Director of Research Advancement at NUBS China, chaired the first session. Professor Kim Hua Tan, Deputy Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange at NUBS UK chaired the second session themed "Embedding collaborative research in NUBS next Research Strategy".

Professor Martin Liu, Associate Dean for RKE at NUBS China, shared RKE strategic priorities and plan at NUBS China and his views on building and supporting research excellence.

Over the four days, the conference presented around 70 papers from NUBS faculty members and doctoral students. The participants joined the discussion of each paper in different sessions and the presenters all received a good amount of feedback.

The conference aims to give NUBS faculty members and doctoral students opportunities to share what they are doing and learn what their colleagues are currently working on. This awareness may lead to potential collaborations, and facilitate the formation of research clusters around certain areas and topics among the three campuses. In addition, this conference provides NUBS faculty members and doctoral students opportunities to receive feedback on their working papers and work in progress, and obtain tailored advice on submissions to research conferences and academic journals.
