From 26th to 30th June 2023, the 2023 "Hardening Plan" Internationalisation Literacy Training Course for Technical Backbone of China Academy of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CAAAS), promoted by the Business Development Department of the University of Nottingham Ningbo and supported by Ningbo Institute of Technology (NIT), was successfully completed. A total of 57 professional and technical personnel from the headquarters of China Academy of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CAA), Institute of Comprehensive Research, Institute of Measurement, Institute of Strength, Institute of Pneumatics, Development Centre, Hefei Aerospace, Graduate School and other units participated in this training.

Mr. Zhou Bin made a speech before the training, pointing out that young scientific and technological talents are the future of the country, the hope of the nation's future, and the source of national strategic talent power. He stressed that he hoped that through this training, the young backbone talents could learn to master the international innovation thinking and effectively apply it to the specific scientific research and innovation practice; strengthen the synergy of talent resources among various units and support the high-quality innovation and development of the Institute.
Training Review
The one-week training programme was rich in content. It was arranged for the trainees to study and understand the spirit of the 20th Party Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era in depth, and also arranged for courses on cutting-edge and hot technologies, such as human factors technology, advanced materials, multi-electrical aircrafts, computer science and artificial intelligence, advanced energy and the environment, and so on. At the same time, the training took various forms, including centralised large-class lectures, professional small-class exchanges and on-site visits and debriefing demonstrations.
During the training, the participants visited Geely Hangzhou Bay Power New Energy Experimental Centre, Nottingham China Beacons Institute, Yongjiang Laboratory, etc. Through visits and exchanges, the participants learned about the latest achievements of the combination of industry-university-research and scientific research and innovation "incubation".
During the training, trainees were also organised to participate in sports activities such as Frisbee to further sharpen their will, strengthen their team spirit and stimulate innovation.
In order to strengthen technical exchanges and promote in-depth thinking, group discussions on four topics, including the Institute's talent centre, the construction of innovation highland, the cultivation of leading talents, the practice of basic pre-research scientific and technological innovation, and the role of experts, were arranged during the training period, and the trainees gave in-depth thinking and made a report and display at the completion ceremony. The leaders of Polytechnic of University of Nottingham Ningbo and Human Resources Department of the Institute attended the graduation ceremony and congratulated the successful completion of this training, hoping to deepen the partnership between Ningbo and the Institute through the training, and hoping that the young experts will accelerate their growth, and strive to be the "head geese" to take on the heavy responsibility.
Meaning of the training
This training is of great significance in enhancing internationalisation literacy, promoting technological innovation, talent echelon building and promoting the integration of industry, academia and research, etc. It has played a positive role in the development of China Academy of Aeronautics Research (CAAR) and the advancement of national aviation science and technology.
