These research areas are closely aligned with national and regional strategic emerging industries and future industries.
The “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list identifies the world's leading researchers, representing approximately 2% of all scientists worldwide. It encompasses standardised data on citations, h-index, and a wide range of bibliometric indicators. The list spans 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, based on Science-Metrix's established classification, drawing from Scopus data provided by Elsevier.
Dr Juan Wang, Interim Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange, expressed her sincere congratulations to all the outstanding scientists recognised in the list, “It's wonderful to witness our faculty colleagues being acknowledged for their exceptional contributions to scientific research. Their unwavering dedication, creativity, and relentless pursuit of new knowledge have significantly influenced their respective fields.” She also highlighted that “our faculty comprises 12 research groups committed to pioneering and interdisciplinary research and innovation. Despite being small, we are elite, highly skilled, and international. We are committed to furthering cutting-edge research in key areas and fostering knowledge exchange to create a lasting impact.”
The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE) has an international, high-level teaching and research team, with 147 academic staff from 27 countries and regions and over 95% holding overseas PhD degrees.
