FoSE RKE Happy Hour: A Celebration of Research and Collaboration

In the ever - evolving landscape of scientific research, the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE) successfully launched the inaugural FoSE Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Happy Hour on 5 March from 12:00 to 13:30. Held in PMB, this event aimed to foster academic exchange and collaboration among colleagues, enhancing our research capabilities. The event is hosted by the Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee of FoSE.


The event was kicked off by Professor Juan Wang, whose enthusiastic opening address set the stage for a fruitful afternoon. She extended a warm welcome to all participants and elaborated on the event's objectives and significance.

 

Following her, Professor Giampaolo Buticchi, the Associate Dean for RKE, delivered an inspiring speech. He emphasised the critical role of research communication in driving scientific progress. "Such initiatives enable us to better understand each other's work, uncover synergies, and jointly elevate the research excellence of FoSE,"he stated.

Then, Professor John Zhou, the Dean of FoSE, shared his vision for the future. He underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. 

By strengthening internal communication and exploring new frontiers across disciplines, we can amplify FoSE's influence and contribute to technological transformations and innovations locally, nationally, and globally," he remarked.

The exchange session was the highlight of the event. Participants engaged in lively discussions around the theme "Keywords for My Research," sharing their research areas and recent developments. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as many attendees reported gaining new insights and collaboration opportunities.

 

This event successfully established a platform for promoting research collaboration and academic exchange. Many attendees noted that it not only deepened their understanding of each other's research but also sparked new research ideas, propelling FoSE's research endeavors to new heights.

 

FoSE RKE Happy Hour will be held every Wednesday from 13:00 to 13:30 during the semester at PMB408 (Staff Common Room).
