Dr Juan Wang’s team aims to tackle issues in sustainable development for transportation infrastructures. The team works closely with industrial partners to recycle and reuse waste dregs and drilling slurry as foundation materials for road and pavements. The team has submitted a patent and published a journal paper for their work. Dr Wang’s team is now working with their industrial partners at the Ningbo Transportation Engineering Construction Group Co., Ltd. to construct trial roads using the waste material they’ve developed. She believes the project will lead to more applications in the future.
