On the day

1. For campus access, please use Gate 1 (North Gate) and Gate 4 (Northeast Gate). Please follow our security’s parking guidance. Please observe the safety instructions for visitors. We kindly remind you that open fires or fireworks are not permitted on campus.
2. Make your way to the Lord Dearing Building (DB) where you can check in, collect your tickets (including guest tickets), academic dress and photo ticket. You will be informed of your seat number during check-in. Remember check in will close 30 minutes before the graduation ceremony start time. You will not be allowed to join the graduation ceremony if you fail to finish registration and gowning by then.
3. There will be a series of 'pre-ceremony activities' taking place in the Lord Dearing Building, including alumni services, Youth League organisation relation transfer services, graduates' personal file and employment procedure consulting services and portrait photo services. We strongly suggest you to arrive early on the day to allow sufficient time for these activities.

1. Check your ticket to confirm your seat number and ensure you are seated in the ceremony hall (DHL Auditorium) 15 minutes before the graduation ceremony start time. You may not be permitted to take part in the graduation ceremony if you are late.
2. Guest seating is not allocated, so arrive early to secure your seats. There will be stewards available who can help you find spaces if you need support.

1. The ceremony will start promptly at the time advertised on your ticket.

2. A video will be shown at the start of your ceremony which will explain what will happen. There will be supporting staff present on the day if you have any questions.

3. When it is your time, ushers will guide you towards the stage, before your name is called.

4. Then it is your moment to cross the stage and celebrate your achievements:
the Head of your School/Department (or a representative) will read out your name – at this moment please make your way to the stage, walk to the central table, pause and bow to the Presiding Officer. Then proceed to the far side of the stage where the Dean (or a representative) will shake hands with you. After that, you can collect your degree certificate and transcript (put in a paper folder) from the Academic Services Office staff nearby, and then leave the stage and return to your seat.

5. Please stay in your seat and wait until the whole ceremony is finish. 

1. Graduates can join in group photography in the Auditorium. Please follow ushers’ guidance during the process. Guests will be asked to leave the Auditorium to allow enough space for group photography.
2. Please feel free to take your own photos around campus. Graduation gowns must be returned to the gowning room on the 3rd floor of Lord Dearing Building by 18:30, 19 July.
