We offer a wide range of Mandarin courses that are open to all University staff, students and local residents. These courses are taught by experienced language teachers from Nottingham Confucius Institute China Ningbo Branch.
To book a course with us, you need to:
- Having a valid Chinese visa (NCI Ningbo does not offer visa services);
- Email us to let us know your interested class and current Mandarin proficiency;
- Meet with Mandarin teachers face to face to let them know which class is the most suitable for you
The overall aim of the course is emphatically help students develop strong competence in listening and speaking thus students will be able to fluently communicate with Chinese people. Meanwhile, it also provides foundational knowledge in reading and writing to enable the students to pursue further exploration in future.
On completing this module, students will be able to:
- Manipulate the language with the skills they have acquired together with some advanced grammatical structures;
- Apply the acquired skills to cover topics in Mandarin Chinese language;
- Work in pairs and groups;
- Communicate with native Chinese speakers;
- Display great cross-cultural awareness.
