2021 UNNC CRRC International Talent Training Programme Launched

On 8th April 2021, the UNNC CRRC International Talent Training Programme Opening Ceremony was successfully held in the International Conference Centre at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). Seventy-six participants from CRRC’s subsidiaries across the country gathered on campus to begin their 4-month journey of learning from April to July. They will systematically develop the mindset, knowledge, skills, and capabilities needed better to understand international business, English language, and culture, helping them contribute to CRRC’s international projects. All the participants will undertake and comprehensively study 7 compulsory business modules, including Economic Environment, International Marketing, Team Management, Operations Management, Innovation Leadership and Innovation Strategy, etc., as well as English language training at UNNC.

At the beginning of the Ceremony, Mr Thomas Murphy, Chief Financial and Planning Officer of UNNC, introduced the University and welcomed all the participants. He mentioned that the training programme is closely integrated with multidisciplinary courses such as engineering, humanities and social sciences and combines cutting-edge academic knowledge, practical results, and the best global business practice cases, along with liberal arts education concepts. Participants will also enjoy a world-class and truly international education programme at UNNC.

Dr Jenny Dong, Deputy Party Secretary of UNNC, expressed her gratitude to CRRC for its trust in UNNC, and sincerely hoped that the cooperation will bring about good results again and again.

I hope that all the CRRC participants will enjoy their study and forge ahead in such a beautiful campus, and all the efforts made will help CRRC become a respectable world-class company”, expressed Mr Zhang Liming, Deputy Director of HR Department of CRRC.

Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), introduced the Business School and gave a keynote speech on "Innovation" as his closing remarks. He pointed out that the participants can help CRRC grow beyond the maturing Chinese market by building high-level management skills, creating an international mindset, and becoming a world-class innovative company.

Ms Wang Xuemei, Deputy Director of Marketing Management Department of CRRC Yangtze, said, “I feel very grateful that our company can join such a long-term and professional training programme. To better contribute to future work, I wish to greatly improve my English communication and business negotiation skills and develop an international mindset and so on during this study period. I look forward to this journey.”

UNNC is making full use of its rich global teaching resources to cultivate outstanding talents for CRRC through customised training courses. Since collaboration, which began in 2012, the programme has trained nearly 800 participants. In terms of research, the University has undertaken research cooperation on electrification technologies, focusing on developing and industrialising wide-band semiconductor motor controllers with CRRC.
