NUBS China Open Office Hour

03 November 2022

To help students broaden information channels and strengthen teacher-student interaction, Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) held an Open Office Hour on 2 November. The event was organised to enable students to talk directly to the management of NUBS China, allowing them to put forward their questions, ideas, and suggestions concerning all aspects of university life.

During the Open Office Hour, Professor Martin Liu, Interim Dean of NUBS China, welcomed all the teachers and students present. He stated that NUBS China always pays attention to each student, hopes to hear their voice, and encourages students to give feedback. Professor Hing Kai Chan, Acting Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience, Professor Jie Wang, Associate Dean of Research and Knowledge Exchange, Mr Andrew Edwards, Director of the Undergraduate Programme, and Dr Maria Luo, Director of the Postgraduate programme, all expressed their eagerness to hear the students' ideas during this event after giving brief self-introduction.

The students enthusiastically asked questions and actively communicated with the teachers about exchange programmes, participation in research projects, internship opportunities, and other issues. The session was divided into six groups: undergraduate programme, postgraduate programme, PhD programme, exchange and employability, faculty senior tutor, and Department of Campus Life. Students went to different groups according to their needs.

Students are partners of NUBS China and are also participants in the faculty’s decision-making. NUBS China always implements the concept of being "student-centred", attaching great importance to listening to students' feedback, and solving students' problems. The students participating in the event said they were looking forward to the next Open Office Hour.
