Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) has been awarded renewal of a major international accreditation, EQUIS, for the maximum length of five years. This achievement continues the School’s membership of a select global group of business schools that hold the sought-after five-year accreditation.
NUBS is distinctive for being the only UK business school to hold EQUIS accreditation for all its business school operations on the University’s campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia. Only nine other business schools in Chinese mainland hold this level of EQUIS accreditation.
About EQUIS
The EFMD Quality Improvement System, EQUIS, is one of the three prestigious accreditation schemes for leading institutions in business education. It is granted and run by EFMD, the European Foundation for Management Development, based in Brussels. EQUIS is a mission-based accreditation with an international focus and its scope covers the entire School and all its activities.
Dean of Nottingham University Business School, Professor Duncan Angwin, said:
“I am delighted that EQUIS has re-accredited Nottingham University Business School for the full term of five years, across all our campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia. The Accreditation Board was particularly impressed with the quality of the School in the areas of Research, Internationalisation, Sustainability, Responsibility and Ethics. This is a tremendous testimony to the depth and strength of the business school, particularly in achieving this accolade during the COVID-19 crisis.”
The EQUIS accreditation process is rigorous and preparation takes several years. EQUIS assesses the whole business school including not only all its degree programmes but also all activities and units of the school covering teaching, research, business connections, executive education provision and community outreach, alumni relations, student opinion, administration and resources.
The School is grateful for the involvement of its alumni, corporate friends and associates, advisory boards and students in contributing to this successful re-accreditation.
