The goals of green computing are to reduce the impact of hazardous materials, maximise energy efficiency and maximise the recyclability or biodegradability of dis-guarded products. We are now ethically and socially required to green our IT products, applications, services, and practices.

End-of-life computers and mobiles are of little value to the owner but they are a cherished commodity in many areas of the world, including China. Through reuse their lifespan can be increased by several years. For the children in these areas this is invaluable and has a lasting positive impact in their lives and on that of their families.

Green e campus can benefit society, the university and the environment by improving energy efficiency, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, using less harmful materials, and encouraging reuse and recycling.
