Tuition Fees 2011-2012
For International Students with foreign passports:

Year 1 and 2: RMB 80,000/year
Year 3 and 4: Nottingham UK international student fee*minus £3,000 scholarship from the University of Nottingham, or EU fee where appropriate.
BA English Language and Applied Linguistics:
Year 1 and 2: RMB 80,000/year
Year 3 and 4: Nottingham UK international student fee* minus £1,000 scholarship from the University of Nottingham, or EU fee where appropriate.
BA English Language and Literature:
Year 1 and 2: RMB 80,000/year
Year 3 and 4: Nottingham UK international student fee* minus £2,000 scholarship from the University of Nottingham, or EU fee where appropriate.
4+0 Programmes:
Students spend four years at The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China with the tuition fee at RMB 80,000/year.
*Fees will be charged at The Nottingham UK international student rate based on the year students were admitted to The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China.
Postgraduate (one-year masters) RMB 90,000
Postgraduate (two-year masters) RMB 80,000/year
For the MSc degrees in the Division of Sustainable Development, students are registered in the UK at the University of Nottingham and will be charged at the Nottingham UK international student rate.
PhD

For periods spent at UNNC, the PhD fee will be RMB 70,000 per annum by Social Sciences or Arts and Humanities students and RMB 80,000 for Science and Engineering students. Non-Chinese nationals will pay RMB 80,000 and RMB 90,000 respectively.

The part-time fee will be 50% of the full-time fee per annum.

Travel and accommodation is to be paid for by the student.
Additional Costs
Accommodation:
Option A: RMB 12,000 + RMB 1,000 deposit/room/year
Option B: RMB 4,800/room/year
Option C: RMB 4,800/room/year
Option D: RMB 2,000/room/year
Books: RMB 2,500 per year (actual amount will be calculated and settled at the end of the academic year)
Insurance (compulsory): RMB 600 per year
Living expenses: RMB 1,800-3,500 per month to include meals, power, water, internet connection and entertainment and other necessities depending on life-style. This compares to approximately £700 per month in the UK.
Non-competitive scholarships
In addition to the 2+2 programmes which offer scholarships for the period of study based in the UK, the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China offers the following scholarships:
Alumni Scholarship
A 10% tuition fee reduction for students applying for postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham China and who have previously studied at undergraduate level in The University of Nottingham UK, China or Malaysia.
Family Scholarship
A 10% first year's tuition fee reduction for the children, brothers, sisters, husbands or wives of students who are currently registered on award bearing courses at The University of Nottingham Ningbo or who have already successfully completed award-bearing courses.
Competitive Scholarships
These scholarships are designed to reward undergraduate and postgraduate students with outstanding academic performance on a competitive basis.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic results in the previous academic year.
Allocation of all the above awards is administered by the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China and require no additional application process.
PhD Bursaries and Scholarships

The University provides, on a competitive basis a significant number of bursaries. RMB 20,000 per annum for a maximum of 3 years (full-time) and RMB 10,000 per annum for a maximum of 6 years (part-time). Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of the quality of candidates' applications. The bursary is renewable, subject to the annual review.

A significant number of full and partial scholarships covering tuition fees and living costs may also be available for exceptionally qualified candidates. The number of scholarships varies from year to year, in the 2010/2011 there are 12 full scholarships available for top students, 5 targeted to Engineering, 2 for computer science and 5 more for other disciplines.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships, combining paid teaching with PhD research may be available for suitable candidates.
