The English parallel session of the Ningbo Postgraduate Academic Paper Festival was successfully held at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China on 24 October 2025. Jointly supported by The Ningbo Association of Science and Technology (NAST) and Ningbo Social Science Association (NSSA), this municipal level event involves 13 Universities/Institutions, hosting 14 parallel sessions. UNNC had the honour of hosting the English parallel session, which focused primarily on research in the humanities and social sciences.
Based on expert's review in summer, outstanding papers from the UNNC session were selected for the final live presentation. These papers covered diverse and cutting-edge topics, such as AI and L2 writing, digital technology and youth income, literary soundscapes, electromagnetic wave absorption materials, corporate investment decisions, maritime flow and food price forecasting, and historical political movements. These presentations demonstrated the solid academic skills and interdisciplinary research vision of postgraduate students in Ningbo.
During the presentation session, postgraduate students from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Ningbo University and the Ningbo China Supply Chain Innovation Research Institute successively delivered their papers in English and engaged in in-depth discussions with the judges and audience on site. The entire event featured a strong academic atmosphere and lively interaction, fully demonstrating the expression ability and research potential of postgraduate students from Ningbo universities on international academic platforms.
Finally, in accordance with the competition rules and requirements of the Ningbo Academic Festival Organizing Committee, the gold, silver, bronze, and excellence awards were announced. The event was not only a recognition of the participants’ efforts, but also an indication to the value of research innovation and exploration. Furthermore, this event also served as a platform to promote academic exchanges and cooperation among universities, which greatly helps to promote the integrated development of high-level talent cultivation and discipline construction in the Ningbo city.
2025年10月24日下午，由宁波市科学技术协会与宁波市社会科学界联合会共同支持的“宁波市研究生学术节”英文分会场在宁波诺丁汉大学IEB122报告厅顺利举行。本次活动汇聚了来自全市13所高校及科研机构的优秀研究生代表，共设14个平行分会场，宁波诺丁汉大学承办了英文分会场，主要聚焦人文与社会科学研究方向。
经过暑期专家评审，优秀的论文从宁波诺丁汉大学分会场中脱颖而出，进入最终现场展示环节。这些论文主题多元，涵盖人工智能与二语写作、数字技术与青年收入、文学声音景观、电磁波吸收材料、企业投资决策、海运与粮食价格预测、历史政治运动等多个前沿领域，展现了宁波地区研究生扎实的学术功底与跨学科的研究视野。
在展示环节中，来自宁波诺丁汉大学、宁波大学及宁波中国供应链创新研究院的研究生们依次进行了全英文论文汇报，并与现场评委及观众展开了深入交流。整场活动学术氛围浓厚，互动热烈，充分体现了宁波高校研究生在国际化学术平台上的表达能力和研究潜力。
最后，根据宁波学术节组委会比赛规则和要求，决出了金、银、铜、优秀等奖项。不仅是对参赛者的肯定和鼓励，也彰显了知识创新与学术探索的价值。本次活动不仅为研究生提供了展示研究成果的平台，也促进了校际之间的学术交流与合作，进一步推动了宁波地区高层次人才培养与学科建设的融合发展。
