CeDEx China at the School of Economics successfully concluded the 2026 Summer School in Mathematical Economics & Financial Econometrics, held from 15 June to 3 July.
The three-week programme brought together students primarily from the School of Economics, alongside participants from Nottingham University Business School China, to strengthen their quantitative foundations for further study and career development in economics, finance and related fields. This year’s Summer School focused on four core modules: Analysis and Optimisation, Linear Algebra with MATLAB, Topics in Econometrics, and Probability Theory. The programme was delivered by five academic staff members, with dedicated tutorial support provided by six teaching assistants.
The Summer School concluded with a two-hour final examination, followed by a closing ceremony during which participants received their certificates. The ceremony also featured sharing sessions from two alumni, who reflected on their academic journeys at UNNC and shared advice on postgraduate study and future career planning.
CeDEx China and the School of Economics congratulate all participants on completing this intensive programme, and thank the academic staff, teaching assistants, alumni speakers and organisers for their contributions to its success.
