The Final Round of Competition
The first UNNC user interface design competition was hosted by the CPU (Computer Psycho Union) on March 23rd at the Science and Engineering Building. This competition welcomes competitors from different majors to design a mobile application which meets the living and working needs of students residing within UNNC. Competitors from International Communication, Engineering, International Studies and Ccomputer Science submitted their designs and gave a three minutes creative presentation of their products.
The competition was judged by academics from the School of Computer Science all of whom had expertise in the field – Dr. Eugene Ch’ng, Dr. Dave Towey and Mr. Matthew Pike. The final presentations were nine outstanding groups, out of which three were awarded the top three prices respectively. This competition exposes Human Computer Interaction, a mainstream area in Computer Science to students of other majors. We would like to congratulate the winners of the awards.
CPU plan to hold more computer science related events in the future, so UNNC students have an opportunity to learn about the importance of Computer Science in the 21st century, an age where society is mediated by digital contents and interfaces.
