Ms. Wu Zhenzi, a Finance, Accounting and Management graduate of Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) shared with us her experiences of making a significant career transition to embrace her passion. After graduation, she took her first job at a bank in Shanghai but soon realized that it did not fit in well with her career goals. Not having gained adequate qualification to transfer to other sectors of the finance industry, she felt at a loss. Recalling that period in her life, Zhenzi said that it was the confidence and the open-mindedness she had developed in UNNC that eventually encouraged her to make the transition. After quitting the first job, she furthered her study at St. John's University in New York, majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, and joined the Data Science Department at Nielsen in Shanghai after graduation. She now works at Tencent Shanghai and describes her current job as "telling stories with data". Enjoying every day spent on this job, Zhenzi hopes to continue working in this field, gain more experience as well as keep developing her expertise. Best wishes to Zhenzi!
