In the recent SAMPE Global Board of Directors' Meeting held in Charlotte, the USA, Professor Xiaosu Yi was selected as Executive Vice President, the term start from 1st July 2019. Following that, Professor Yi will continue his term as Global President and Emeritus President. Professor Yi is the first Chinese president of SAMPE Global in the 75 years history.
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) is a global professional member society that provides enhanced educational opportunities, by delivering information on new and advanced materials and processing technology.
Professor Xiaosu Yi is the president of SAMPE China Region, the Chief Scientist of Composite Materials in the AVIC Composite Corporation. Since 2017, he is appointed as Li Dak Sum Chair Professor in Advanced Materials and Composites. Prof. Yi has published more than 400 papers, 10 monographs and has been conferred more than 50 international and Chinese invention patents.
Professor Yi is committed to propel the collaboration and innovation among the academic, industry and research and has built long-term collaboration with the global aerospace corporations like Airbus. In 2017, it also unveiled the ACC TECH – UNNC Joint Laboratory in Sustainable Composites Materials for the disciplinary collaboration and innovation.
Professor Xiaosu Yi is an expertise in multifunctional composites materials, green materials and composites, material manufacturing technologies and composites modeling and simulation technologies.
