The annual exhibition is a major event that marks the achievements and success of ABE department in the 2019-20 academic year. Professor May Tan-Mullins, Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning; Professor Alain Chong, Dean of Graduate School; students and staff from Department of ABE and also distinguished guests from GLUMAC and BRE presented the opening ceremony.
In the opening ceremony, Professor May Tan-Mullins delivered an opening speech and extended her sincere gratitude to the diligent staff and hardworking students. She said that the class of 2020 is the strongest class of UNNC. She also proposed all Year 4 students to give a hug or elbow bump to their favourite staff onsite to express their gratitude.
Dr Ali Cheshmehzangi, Head of Department of Architecture and Built Environment expressed his welcome to all the guests, ABE staff and students. He introduced the extraordinary achievements of ABE department obtained in this academic year and highlighted the department’s prompt action this semester, adjusted teaching method to abate the impact of COVID-19. He also presented the newly approved MSc programme in Urbanism and Sustainable Environments, which is due to start in September 2021.
In the ceremony, the department also conferred two sets of awards from the department (internal) and external sponsors. This time, we are also honoured to have representatives from GLUMAC and BRE to confer the award and give a short speech to our students.
The exhibition showcased the design projects from both Year 3 and 4 students Architecture students in the basement of CSET. It will last until the beginning of July. All are welcomed to stop by and pay a visit.
