27 Nov, The International Mandarin Teaching Conference and Innovative Teaching Competition was held at UNNC new International Conference Center. Professor Wu Zhongwei from Fudan University and Professor Fang Huanhai from Xiamen University delivered keynote speech. They analyzed International Mandarin teaching from the perspectives of teachers and learners. Professor Wu emphasized the importance to develop phonics, dialogues and characters as a combined complex. Professor Fang demonstrated that teaching Mandarin based on the culture differences would be a trend for overseas Chinese language teaching in the future. The conference attracted around 500 registers, including international Mandarin teachers from Ningbo University, Ningbo International School and Huamao International School.

During the afternoon, an innovative Mandarin teaching competition was held at classroom C01 the Lord Dearing  Building. Through rounds of competitions, 3 students from UNNC and Ningbo University met in the final. Given by the joint decision of 5 penalty members and 40 audiences, Yihan Wang, a MA CTCSOL student from Ningbo University won the first place.
