10 – 11 May at Siyuan Auditorium UNNC, the Sino-UK Health Forum - Health-Care Reform in China: Past, Present and the Future - was held under the sponsorship and co-organisation of NCI Ningbo Branch. 2019 witnessed the tenth anniversary of health-care reform plan of China, it was important for academic community to evaluate the progress of health-care reform in China. In particularly, there was a wide public concern on whether the reform of health care system in China was able to cope with several challenging issues arising from the increasing burden of non-communicable disease and population ageing.
Xiao Tao JIN, Former Vice Minister of National Health Commission and current President of National Association of Medical Information and Big-data for Healthcare delivered keynote speech. More than 30 scholars and expertise from China, UK, U.S.A, Austria and Uganda shared their research results with over 150 audiences through the lectures and round table discussions on the two-day event.
Professor Nick Miles Provost and Pro-Vice Chancellor of UNNC and Chair of NCI Board Committee, Professor Gary Rawnsley Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, and Professor Shujie Yao Director of Nottingham Confucius Institute China Ningbo Branch jointly welcomed the speakers, guests and audiences.
