In the afternoon of 21 October 2026, students from the Department of Civil Engineering, led by Prof. Juan Wang and Dr. Mengtian Yin, visited the construction site of the New Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre. The visit gave students a close look at how advanced engineering, digital technologies, automation and innovative construction methods are being applied in one of China’s largest stadium projects.

During the site visit, students learned about the stadium’s distinctive structural features and the engineering solutions developed to address complex design and construction challenges.

The contractor also prepared dedicated demonstration rooms to showcase key construction techniques and processes. These facilities allowed students to examine materials, components and construction methods more closely, helping them connect classroom knowledge with real-world civil engineering practice.
