17 Apr, Professor Shearer West was received by Deputy Director of Hanban/Headquarters of Confucius Institute Mr Guocheng Zhao, Director of European Confucius Institute, Confucius Institute Headquarters Mr Jincheng Yang and other senior officers. Professor Chris Rudd, Professor Nick Miles, Director Jason Feehily and Professor Shujie Yao also participated the meeting.

It was agreed in the meeting that the NCI’s strategic plan would focus on 3 aspects, in specific the promotion of Chinese language and culture; the profound cooperation of research, business trade, innovation and entrepreneurship between China and UK based on the cultural exchange; and the enhancement of Nottingham – Ningbo sister city relationship through the unique function of the Ningbo Branch.
