The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a dynamic academic event that challenges PhD students to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Participants aim to explain their research to a general audience, cultivating essential academic communication and presentation skills. Since its inception at The University of Queensland in 2008, 3MT has grown into a global phenomenon, with over 900 universities across 85 countries hosting competitions
On June 3, 2025, we successfully held the live 3MT UNNC competition, where all participants impressed with their exceptional academic research and clear communication. 16 PhD candidates from various disciplines presented the highlights of their research and demonstrated how to explain complex academic topics to a general audience in just three minutes.
Every participant showcased their strong research foundation and unique academic perspectives, earning high praise from the audience.
