On 22 Mar, NCI Ningbo branch held the Chinese Knot workshop for 37 visitors from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Firstly, the teacher made participants throwing and catching a delicate Chinese knot to gather everybody’s attention. Following by a brief introduction of the Confucius Institute, staff and volunteers explained the origin and meaning of different knots as well as presented visitors how to make the lucky knot. Then participants tried to make the knot by themselves enthusiastically and several of them said they would like to bring their works back to Singapore as a special souvenir for their family because of the auspicious meaning.
The group members are all Frisbee amateurs, who visit UNNC for the annually Ningbo Frisbee competition. They will attend a weeklong sports and cultural exchange activity here. Except for practicing with the Frisbee club every day, they have visited UNNC Incubator and had the academic exchanging sessions with the teachers from the school of engineering and the school of business UNNC. Later they will visit downtown Ningbo before return to Singapore on 26th. We wish all the members enjoy their trip in Ningbo and achieve good result in the competition.
