October 17, 2017, Sino-British Education Cooperation Forum was successfully held in UNNC aiming to enhance the education exchange between Ningbo and Nottingham. The participants consist of delegates of primary and secondary school head teachers from Nottingham, Wanli Education Group, Ningbo Urban Construction Investment Holding Company, and Rongan Education Group. This forum was strongly supported by the Ningbo Education Bureau and Nottingham City Council.
On this forum, Mr Eric Chen, the Director of International Exchanges and Cooperation at the Education Bureau in Ningbo, introduced the current situations of international operation of Ningbo’s education. Mr Chen pointed out that, Ningbo Education Bureau pays great attention to “introduce in” and “bring out”. In order to attract more international students to Ningbo, Ningbo Education Bureau provided various scholarships for foreign students every year. Besides UNNC the independent Sino-British University, the number of Sino-Foreign non-independent colleges had also increased a lot in the recent years. On the same time, the Ningbo Education Bureau also provided financial support to Chinese teachers who teaches abroad.
Amongst the British representatives, the Executive Assistant Head of Rushcliffe School Nottingham, head teacher of Carlton Le Willows Academy Nottingham, head teacher of Alderman White School Nottingham delivered introduction about their schools separately. During the head teachers’ trip in Ningbo, the nine British schools had built sister relationship with nine schools in Ningbo under the guide of Ningbo Education Bureau.
