Ms. Yang Qian (IBM, Class of 2014) shared with us her experiences of constantly discovering herself and gaining intrinsic power. Academically, professors at UNNC who teach courses combining theory with their own rich experiences have deepened Qian’s understanding of professional knowledge. Additionally, she grasped a sense of calm and passion for research from her dissertation supervisor, who drove Qian to explore her own inner passion. Therefore, in her extracurricular life, she kept jumping out of her comfort zones and embracing challenges such as overseas volunteer activities which enhanced her confidence and also allowed her to generally clarify her goal.
After working, she found the needs to think carefully about her decisions and adaptation to more complicated environment. Furthermore, the promotion also brings her more responsibilities, prompting her to consider comprehensively, not only caring about her own performance but weighing the collective interests, motivating members and creating common goals.
It seems that she never stopped growing along the way. "Sometimes, I weigh challenges, but always end up with accepting them." She said. Hope Qian could continue to run with internal motivation and conquer one mountain after another.
Best wishes to Yang Qian!
