New PGR Student Induction

Professor Laura Bishop, Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange, delivered the opening speech for the event and extended a warm welcome to all new PGR students. She provided an overview of the university's research resources, the functions of the Graduate School, and the achievements in UNNC doctoral education. She encouraged everyone to enjoy the research process and achieve personal growth, followed by a Q&A session with some of the new PGR students.

Theresa Zhang, Senior Officer from Graduate School, outlined the key information about the PGR Lifecycle and demonstrated the operation of the BPM system on site.

Dr. Rachel Hu, Manager for Researcher Training and Development, introduced the PGR Training content, providing students with a clear pathway to enhance their comprehensive skills.

Finally, Tina Zhang, the Senior Officer for PGR Students Engagement and Research Support, reviewed and showed the previous events organized by the Graduate School. She encouraged everyone to actively participate in future PGR events, and enjoy a balanced learning experience.

Welcome Lunch The welcome lunch was an incredible ice-breaking moment specially arranged for the new PGR students. Everyone enjoyed a relaxed meal, engaged in lively conversations, and made new friends.

DTP Induction

The induction session for the DTP students in the afternoon briefly introduced their overall structure and requirements of the program. Senior students were also invited to share their learning experiences as DTP students and addressed questions from the new students. This series of welcome events has helped new students gain a better understanding of the research environment, academic resources, and postgraduate training system at the UNNC, which fully preparing them for their upcoming doctoral and MRes studies. We wish all new students a smooth academic journey and an enjoyable research experience!

Research Roadmap: Dialogue with Academic Pioneers

On the afternoon of September 16, the Graduate School also held the "Research Roadmap: Dialogue with Academic Pioneers" series event. Professor Laura Bishop, Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange at the UNNC, engaged in a thoughtful exchange with doctoral and MRes students. Professor Laura Bishop began by sharing her own research experiences. Then she delved into in-depth discussions on educational topics such as relationship between technology and research and work-life balance, addressing questions raised by the students. The session was insightful and highly interactive, providing ample inspiration for the attendees.
