On 11 December, the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE) hosted the FoSE Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Conference. This grand event gathered Research Groups, as well as other research units within the faculty, and attracted numerous representatives from various industries.


The improved U-Net and improved ResNet artificial neural network architectures, which won first and second prizes respectively, were independently developed by the UNNC team. These innovative solutions have successfully broken through the current bottlenecks in medical imaging. They are currently being clinically tested in several top-tier hospitals in Ningbo. The related technologies have attracted potential European partners.

As a renowned and authoritative international competition in the field of medical image, the MICCAI International BraTS Competition has extraordinarily high requirements for the artificial intelligence theoretical knowledge and practical application of participants. The competition attracted over 700 teams from renowned universities worldwide, including Stanford University, Harvard University, University of Oxford, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Sun Yat-sen University.

Dr Weng Ying stated that the team will continue to delve into the application of artificial intelligence in medical scenarios, providing innovative solutions to the global healthcare industry by expanding international cooperation.
