On 18th Dec 2017, the Head of Department Dr Craig Hancock awarded the winner group prize to a group of qualifying year students for their excellent performance during the 4th Bridge Launch Competition. The prize winners this year were Yinjie Cheng, Fangyu Gu, Sangchu Quan and Jingfeng Zhou.

The Bridge Launch Competition is a yearly event held by the Department of Civil Engineering. All qualifying year civil engineering students are eligible to participate. The competition includes 2 parts: design and build a paper bridge; launch and load the bridge to destruction. This year, there were 7 groups of participates. The bridge built by the winner group was able to carry a load of 10kg. For more information about the competition, please visit link.
