Small Teaching & Learning Development Grant Scheme

The UNNC Small Teaching and Learning Development Grant (STL) is a competitive bidding process that provides the opportunity to create innovative evidence-informed practice to enhance teaching and learning at UNNC. Applications are invited from any staff engaged in teaching and learning activities at UNNC. Proposals submitted under this scheme may request up to RMB 50,000 from the Teaching & Learning fund. Projects will normally run for twelve months and successful applicants will be asked to share the outcomes and ideas from their project with colleagues through dissemination workshops and events.

Student as Change Agents (SACA) Scheme

The Students as Change Agents is a programme open to all students, across all years and campuses. It brings together students and staff to collaborate on student-led innovative projects, becoming an active member of a team and have the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on teaching and learning in the University.

Call for submission

If you're passionate to make any contribution to improve the current and future student experince at UNNC, please fill in the proposal form and submit to SACA@nottingham.edu.cn

As a Change Agent,

  • You will play an active part in making significant changes to improve the current and future student experience.
  • You are empowered to shape your learning as well as to gain some worthwhile experience. This opportunity also offers you training, hands-on experience and will help you to develop a number of key employability skills.
  • You can also choose to get credit for your work by doing the Nottingham Advantage Award (NAA) Students as Change Agents module.

Change Agents projects cover six main themes:

  • Technology in teaching and learning
  • Academic skills development
  • Learning for employability
  • Programme and module review
  • Assessment and feedback review
  • Sustainable practices in the University

Conducting your own SACA project mainly includes:

Pre-planning

  • Exploration of what potential project might be about
  • Fill in project proposal form and get approved 
  • Recruit (additional) students. Students work in groups to carry on the project.

Planning

  • 1st meeting: get to know team members; brainstorm your ideas with team members and staff partner to resolve the issue. 
  • 2nd meeting: specify the project plan, including identify tasks, set goals, establish team roles, etc. in Project Brief.

Execution

  • Carry out project
  • Regular progress meetings with students and staff partner

Presentation

  • Students in thier groups deliver a presentation during showcase
  • Attain Nottingham Advantage Award (optional)
