Dr Sherif Welsen, an associate professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, has received the best presentation award at the 12th International Conference on Distance Learning and Education ICDLE, held in Wuhan on the 22nd - 25th of October 2021. This year ICDLE was combined with the 13th International Conference on Education Technology and Computers ICECT.
Outstanding presentation awards are given to about 10% of papers at ICDLE and ICECT combined. In the view of the program committee, these are presentations that make a decisive contribution to the field and should be read by a broad audience due to their relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. His presentation entitled “Engineering Student Preference of Flexible Learning During and After Educational Disruption” has been selected as the best presentation from all other excellent oral presentations. The study proposed and investigated the effectiveness of the online teaching delivery to both domestic and overseas engineering students during and after the pandemic.
Winning the Best Presentation Award was a great opportunity to increase my confidence in my recent research direction on Engineering Education I’m leading in FoSE. In addition to the official recognition, it was great to receive excellent comments from the program committee on how the presented study has impacted the experience of the audience,” Dr Welsen said.
