The delegation was warmly received by Professor Guoying Wei, Dean of the College, and Professor Xifeng Mao, Party Secretary of the Collage, who introduced their strengths in materials engineering and chemical technology. Both sides expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation in interdisciplinary fields.
Professor Jun Liang Zhou, Dean of UNNC's Faculty of Science and Engineering, presented the faculty's recent achievements, including four disciplines ranked within the top 1% globally in ESI rankings, with Engineering notably placed in the top 0.2%. Several disciplines have also been recognised in the 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects ranking and provincial-level recognitions.
Professor Zhou emphasised that chemical engineering and materials science represent key areas for joint development. He proposed practical collaboration in curriculum design, shared laboratory, joint research projects, and student exchanges to build a cross-institutional education platform.
During the plenary session, faculty members from both universities shared their work in materials science, chemical engineering, and environmental energy, discussing potential joint projects and platforms. They agreed to enhance cooperation through shared research facilities, academic events, and faculty visits.
The visit included a tour of CJLU’s museum, strengthening mutual understanding. Both institutions are committed to building a sustainable partnership that supports the training of globally competent engineering talent.
