On 12 March, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and Ningbo Joyson Electronic Corp. signed a cooperation agreement to launch an Industry–Education Integration Project. The collaboration will focus on areas including automotive electronics, embodied intelligence and artificial intelligence, promoting deeper integration between academic research and industrial practice.
Through this partnership, the two sides will collaborate in talent development and technological innovation. In terms of talent development, the project will adopt a dual-supervisor system and academic exchanges to cultivate interdisciplinary talent equipped with both cutting-edge technological expertise and a strong understanding of industrial practice. Meanwhile, the partners will conduct technology-focused research to jointly address industry-driven technological challenges and promote real-world applications.
The agreement marks an important step towards bridging the long-standing gap between university education and practical industrial needs. By leveraging UNNC’s strengths in educational resources and Joyson Electronics’ extensive industrial expertise, the two sides aim to build a long-term partnership based on complementary strengths and mutual benefit, jointly advancing scientific research and industrial development.
