To prepare talent for the future, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) has launched four new master's programmes for September 2026 entry: MSc Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering, MSc Innovative Design, MSc Intelligent Infrastructure and Management, and MSc Psychology (Applied). Applications are now open.
All programmes use an application-based admissions system that requires no national entrance examination. Successful graduates will receive a Master's degree from the University of Nottingham, UK, recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
MSc Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering
This one-year full-time programme develops expertise in next-generation communications and intelligent engineering.
The curriculum, covering 5G/6G mobile and satellite communications systems, AI-driven electronic communications, the Internet of Things, embedded computing, and digital signal processing, is fully aligned with the UK Engineering Council’s AHEP4 standards. Students gain practical experience through hands-on work in state-of-the-art laboratories and collaborative projects with industrial partners.
Graduates of this programme will be well prepared for high-demand roles in future communication systems, AI engineering, and embedded systems.

MSc Innovative Design
This programme offers both full-time (1 year) and part-time (2 years) routes, and welcomes candidates from a wide range of science, technology, and creative design backgrounds who are motivated to pursue innovation-led research and practice.
The curriculum is interdisciplinary that includes design methodologies, technology integration, and professional skills development. The programme is supported by a distinguished faculty team with expertise in additive manufacturing, electromechanical engineering, and industrial design. Among them are industry specialists who have contributed to projects for organisations such as Boeing, the European Space Agency and Geely, as well as mentors who have guided students to multiple wins in globally renowned competitions, including the Red Dot Award and iF Design Award.
Graduates may pursue roles such as interaction designer, product manager, innovation consultant, or technical development engineer.

MSc Intelligent Infrastructure and Management
This programme (one year full-time or two years part-time) aims to develop professionals equipped with advanced digital technologies, engineering systems thinking, and project management skills to meet the growing demand for digital transformation in urban development, transportation, and construction industries. Aligned with the UK Engineering Council’s AHEP4 framework, the curriculum focuses on cutting-edge areas such as digital construction, intelligent transportation and sustainable engineering. Through taught modules and an independent research project, students will further enhance their analytical skills and engineering practice capabilities.
Upon graduation, students will possess the core competencies required for future smart city development and infrastructure upgrades. They will be well prepared for careers in intelligent transportation, digital construction, infrastructure operation and management, and international engineering project management, or to pursue doctoral studies at leading universities worldwide.

MSc Psychology (Applied)
Open to graduates of any discipline, this programme is ideal for those passionate about psychology who seek to explore the subject further or pursue careers in counselling, healthcare, education, and related fields.
The most distinctive feature lies in its extensive coverage. Core modules include personality and individual differences, cognition and the mind, and neuroscience and behaviour, while optional modules include social psychology, brain and language, and advanced experimental and behavioural economics. Courses are taught by a team of world-class psychologists and industry professionals, offering cutting-edge expertise with a global perspective.
