Three UNNC subjects enter ESI global rankings top 1%

UNNC is committed to providing high quality international education. Over the past few years, the university has established research platforms at multiple levels, research bases, and various key laboratories across disciplines such as engineering, business administration, humanities, and social sciences. As of now, six UNNC subjects have made it onto the 2023 Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects; approximately half of UNNC’s undergraduate programmes have been awarded with national and provincial “First-Class” status, and UNNC has had five National Level First Class Undergraduate Modules. Additionally, the university has deepened its industry-university-research collaboration with globally renowned companies such as Boeing, Microsoft, and Amazon.

In addition, UNNC keeps attracting top scholars and experts around the globe to promote the development of teaching and research. 21 UNNC scholars were included in the single-year database and eight scholars in the career-long database of Stanford-Elsevier listof world’s top 2% scientists released in October 2023. Earlier in March, 11 academics from UNNC were included in Elsevier's 2022 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. The world class academic staff of UNNC has won recognition from numerous reputable international rankings.

ESI is a quantitative analysis database based on more than 12 million literature records of more than 12,000 academic journals around the world, including the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Social Sciences Citation Index. It covers 22 professional fields and is one of the most important evaluation index tools to effectively analyse and benchmark research performance, identify significant trends, rank top performers, and evaluate potential employees and collaborators. Subject ranking in the top 1% of ESI is generally regarded as an international high-level discipline.
