Professor He Zhang introduces research achievements to the delegation

2 June: Bozhi Guo, Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), Zhongyan Qian, Deputy Director of Systems Engineering and Program Management Department of COMAC, Canjun Xie, Director of CR929 Programme, Yanhua Tang, Vice President of COMAC University, and another 5 delegation members visited University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), accompanied by Ping Xie, the Chairman of Huarui Aerospace Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and leaders of Wanli Education Group.

The delegation had a guided tour around the campus and visited laboratories of electric and composite materials. Professor He Zhang and Professor Xiaosu Yi, as leading experts, introduced the research achievements and latest research progress to the delegation, who spoke highly of their research.

At the meeting that followed, Party Secretary of UNNC Xiong Ying extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and introduced the education of UNNC. Professor Nick Miles, UNNC Provost, recalled the long-standing cooperation between UNNC and COMAC over the recent years and sincerely hoped that both sides could further enhance knowledge exchanges and deepen cooperation.

Bozhi Guo commented that UNNC is a distinguished university, and its unique talent cultivation style is beneficial for the development of students' language skills, innovation and independent thinking; many of the University’s research fits the demand of the development of aviation industry. There is much room for both sides to cooperate and explore.

Ping Xie hopes that through the visit, UNNC, COMAC and Huarui will have more comprehensive cooperation and make joint efforts to promote the development of the civil aviation industry in China.

The partnership between the University and COMAC dates back to 2010, followed by various forms of cooperation. Professor He Zhang and his team has multiple research collaborations with COMAC on the core technologies for domestic commercial aircrafts.
