Vice Minister of Education Jie Chen visits UNNC image1


On 11 September, Jie Chen, Vice Minister of Education and member of CPC Leading Group of Ministry of Education, led a delegation to visit the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC).

President of UNNC, Academician Xincheng Xie, Party Secretary Shen Weiqi, Provost Jon Garibaldi and other university leaders welcomed Vice Minister Jie Chen and the delegation and participated in the leadership meeting.

During the visit, Jie Chen and his delegation toured UNNC’s educational facilities and laboratories. They listened to reports on the university’s operations and engaged in discussions to gain an in-depth understanding of the university.

Vice Minister Jie Chen affirmed the achievements UNNC has made over the past 20 years and praised the university’s positive contributions in areas such as its distinctive positioning in cooperative education, international innovative talent cultivation, and the promotion of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.

He expressed hope that UNNC will continue to enhance its educational level, explore the establishment of a modern governance system for a world-class university, strengthen research and innovation, serve economic and social development, establishing the university as a new benchmark for cooperative education rooted in China and facing the world in the new era.
