Counselling Service

The University Counselling Service is located in the Trent building in rooms 324-8. (Map and directions)

Counselling is a free service available to all registered students and employed staff of the University. At UNNC we are now able to provide counselling in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).

We are here to support you in your study and work by providing professional and confidential help for any personal, emotional or mental health problems you may have during your time at the university.



Appointments can be made from Monday to Friday 9am—12 noon, 1pm—5pm.

Information for students

We offer a free and confidential service to all registered students in both English and Chinese at the University.

Information for staff

The University Counselling Service is a professional service available for all members of staff at no cost.



If you are unable to contact the University Counselling Service there are other services on campus to help in an emergency.

External Information and advice is also available for self-help purposes.


We work within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework (2015). We also comply with the 1998 Data Protection Act (UK).
