I have been an ELT professional since 1992 and have worked as a teacher of English for Exam Preparation, General and Specific Purposes, trainer for CELTA and DELTA, assessor for CELTA and DELTA, Cambridge and IELTS examiner, academic manager and school founder/director.

I spent most of my career in Italy, but I have also worked in Bulgaria, China, Czechia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States and (of course!) online.

I was born to and raised by a Welsh mother and English father in Spain. My Dad was a very successful drummer in the 1970s (he played on David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”) and my parents moved to a beautiful and quiet island called Menorca when I was just 2 years old. I grew up bilingual in English and Spanish. After obtaining my BA in the UK, I moved to Italy and lived there for 26 years. So I also speak Italian and have 2 bilingual grown-up daughters.

I am currently working on my dissertation for an MA in Education and have a particular interest in the extent to which technology can enhance or inhibit the learning and teaching processes.
