2020 Careers and Employability Report

In the 2019/20 academic year, there are 2,169 high-quality graduates in total, with bachelor's, master's and doctoral students accounting for 73.3%, 24.8% and 1.9% respectively. The three cohorts of graduates all achieved high employment rates after six months following graduation, reaching 92.2%, 93.4% and 100% even in COVID-19, respectively.

83.3% of bachelor’s degree graduates chose to continue their studies, and among them, 58.8% were admitted into the world’s top 50 universities. The average monthly salary (before tax) of employed bachelor’s degree graduates reached 10,501 RMB, largely exceeding the national average.

In 2019, there are 169 graduates from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and about 40 overseas countries. 5.0% of these graduates chose to stay in China for further education or employment. 75.0% of graduates chose to go abroad.

The employment rate of responded PhD graduates has reached 100% for 6 consecutive years (one respondent is not seeking employment for personal reasons). 64% of our PhD graduates have entered the higher education industry and now hold teaching and research positions in universities.

There are 25 alumni chapters so far spread across the world, including London, New York, southern California, Melbourne, Sydney, Toronto, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
