UNNC alumnus Jiahui Hu is making his mark on the global games industry as a Technical Artist on Nintendo Switch 2 blockbuster Star Fox, one of the platform’s most visually impressive titles. The game topped sales charts in several major markets following its release, with Hu contributing to its striking visual effects.
A 2019 graduate of UNNC’s School of International Communications, Hu has since worked with leading international and Chinese games companies including Ubisoft, Tencent, Take-Two and Velan Studios, contributing to titles such as Skull and Bones and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
Hu credits his time at UNNC with helping him grow both professionally and personally. Through opportunities in the Students’ Union, internships and campus activities, he developed the confidence to communicate, collaborate and pursue his interests. His studies in programming and Japanese, driven by his passion for the games industry, have also become valuable skills in his career.
Hu’s journey reflects the spirit UNNC seeks to foster in its students: the confidence to follow their passions, embrace opportunities beyond the classroom and turn what others may see as unconventional interests into strengths for the future.
