Commemorating President Yang Fujia, the fund will promote the educational vision of President Yang. It will support the development of research talent such as doctoral students, attracting and maturing further international innovative talent while promoting the development of China's higher education. Funding will come from UNNC existing donation investment income and new donations.

A founding donor is the company Hybribio Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a leading company of nucleic acid testing products in China, with a complete operation chain, from research and development, production, to sales. Hybribio has 50 Medical Laboratories in China's main cities, and 32 of them (Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Shenyang, Dalian, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Qingdao, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Taiyuan, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Hefei, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Nanning, Changsha, Kunming, Ruili, Guiyang, Chengdu, Chongqing, Chaozhou, Shantou, Nanchang, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Haikou, Hong Kong) are certified for Covid-19 testing.

Mr Kun Tit Sang, Executive Vice President of Hybribio and son of Mr Kun Kiu Chung who was a personal friend of the late President Yang Fujia and is Director and Chairman of Hybribio, delivered a speech at the donation ceremony on the university campus in Ningbo on 24^th September.

As well as the establishment of the fund, University Nottingham Ningbo China has also named a building after the late President. After a formal ceremony on 24^th September, one of the first buildings on its Ningbo campus, the Teaching Building, has been renamed the YANG Fujia Building.
