Recently, Zhengting He, a 2025 graduand of International Studies at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), successfully secured an offer from the University of Cambridge to study for an MPhil degree in Criminology. His other achievements include admission to the esteemed Master’s programme in Political Science at Shenzhen University and being awarded the prestigious title of “Zhejiang Province Outstanding Graduate”.

Reflecting on these accomplishments, Zhengting attributed his success to UNNC's advanced learning facilities, internationally recognised curriculum, strong emphasis on critical thinking and practical applications, all of which laid a solid foundation for his academic development. Equally important, UNNC’s rich offering of extracurricular opportunities provided him with valuable hands-on experience that gave him a distinctive advantage in both further studies and internships.

During his time as a UNNC student, he studied abroad at University College Dublin and Aarhus University, which significantly broadened his global perspective. He was also the only Chinese undergraduate student researcher at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), where he contributed to the area of transnational organised crime and delivered a presentation at UNODC on his research findings.

When he curiously enquired about the reason for his acceptance to Cambridge, the admissions officer specifically acknowledged his clear research plan in criminology and strong academic potential. Reflecting on his undergraduate journey, Zhengting said: “UNNC is a place where students who may feel uncertain can always find their path. It offers genuine opportunities and support for personal growth and discovery. My biggest takeaway was finding my own rhythm in life at UNNC—which was built upon openness, inclusivity, and sustainable learning.”
